Pont Neuf
It is considered by many as the most beautiful city in the world... and for good reason. With its monuments, lights and quays along the Seine, Paris amazes, fascinates and makes you dream. Sometimes you just want it all to yourself. Not to mention the unbelievable bustle which reigns throughout the day, like in a giant beehive, where everyone is struggling to get on with their tasks, sometimes to the detriment of others.
In light of this, Damien Vassart has produced a series of photos in his particular style. The photographs available give a different slant on Paris, a world away from the cluttered image of the capital that would normally be the case. It is a poetic and timeless gaze, through which a more serene Paris, which invites contemplation and escape, may be rediscovered.

Damien Vassart wurde im März 1984 in der Brüsseler Umgebung geboren. Seine Vorliebe für die Kunst und seine ausgeprägte Beobachtungsgabe – verbunden mit einem Hauch von Nostalgie, sobald er an die herrlichen Landschaften zurückdenkt, mit denen er aufgewachsen ist – führten ihn auf natürliche Art und Weise an die Landschaftsfotografie. Paris und dessen Monumente, La Défense und ihre imposanten Hochhäuser, aber auch reine Meereslandschaften gehören zu den bevorzugten Themen seiner Fotografie. Die Einflüsse seines Stils rühren gleichermaßen von der Klassik wie dem modernen Zeitgeist her. Schwarzweiß-Fotografien und das quadratische Format bilden ferner eine Konstante in seiner Arbeit, sowie eine sehr lange Belichtungszeit, um einen irrealen Effekt aus den Bildern zu ziehen.
