Un regard derrière la vitre
“When you go to the centre of Times Square for the first time, you are overwhelmed by an explosion of colours, advertisements, luminescent screens as well as a constant flood of vehicles and people. The crossroads of Broadway and Seventh Avenue has been quite rightly nicknamed the ‘Crossroads of the World.’ In contrast to some photographs, taken with a wide angled lens to bring out the excessive size of the location, I have favoured close-up shots, to closely express the unique sensations that are felt when crossing the Broadway crossroads on foot. In this incessant turmoil, my attention was drawn to the taxi driver’s gaze through the window, drowned by the reflections of the neon lights from the advertisements.” GG

In Versailles 1969 geboren, entfaltet Guillaume Gaudet seit seiner Kindheit eine wahre Vorliebe für das Reisen und das Entdecken neuer Kulturen, was er später auch in verschiedenen Ländern der Welt verwirklicht. 2006 zieht er zu seiner Frau nach New York. Gleich bei seiner Ankunft, verfällt er dem Reiz dieser pulsierenden Stadt. Für den seit Kindheit her begeisterten Fotografen werden die Stadtlandschaft und die Atmosphäre des melting pot des Big Apple für ihn zu einer unversiegbaren Quelle der Inspiration.
