Tokyo Tower
Due to building standards linked to the high frequency of seismic activity throughout the archipelago, Tokyo is a metropolis which extends as far as the eye can see. However, the progress of anti-seismic architecture and the crampedness of the city have changed the appearance of Tokyo little by little, the buildings of which have become taller and taller. The Tokyo Tower was built on the same concept as the Eiffel Tower. At a height of 332.60m, this white and red tower has been open to the public since 1958.

Nach seinem Fotografiestudium an der Kunsthochschule von Montreal in Kanada, arbeitete Xabi Etcheverry als Filmset Fotograf. Als er für einen geplanten kurzen Aufenthalt in das „Land der aufgehenden Sonne“ reiste, blieb er jedoch schließlich ein Jahr. Dieses Bild ist aus dem Buch „Avoir 20 ans à Tokyo“ (Ein 20-jähriger in Tokio) entnommen, das in dem französischen Verlag „Éditions Alternatives“ erschien.
